GIVEAWAY!

I mentioned earlier that I'm nesting. I totally nailed a complete reorganization of my crafts and found this stash of earrings I had made in a previous life when I had time to do such awesome things. I decided one of you might like them! This also gives me an opportunity to get my feet wet with this new Rafflecopter thingy. If you happen to find any problems with it, would you let me know? I'll even send you something awesome as a thank you for helping me!

These beaut's are matte gold stud earrings with a beautiful ruby red Swarovski gem dangling approximately one inch below the heart eyed skulls. I made a pair for myself and found that they add such a feminine, yet intriguing touch to any outfit! When listed in my store, I sold them for $27.

Givin It All Away Day!

Hello Lovelies! Want some free stuff!?
Why yes, YES YOU DO! Especially this:

Creamy Frosted Vanilla Body Cream, Body Lotion, & Spray Set

My beautiful friend, Jamie Walker, is a sales rep for Mary Kay (AND a Hapkido instructor, AND a model, AND an actress) and is one of the few women I know to have been successful selling from home! I asked her a few questions so we could find out some tips and get to know her better.

1. How did you begin your journey as a self employed woman?

I honestly feel like it has always been my calling to be self-employed. (Even though in my younger days, I had NO idea what that meant!) I've been called an entrepreneur by several people. Mary Kay was really my first venture into becoming a self-employed woman. I came into the company to get my products at cost, but I had so much fun teaching other women about skin care and how to apply makeup, it just became part of my life. I am also an aspiring actress and model, plus I teach martial arts and dance at Precious Minutes Learning Center and Toccoa and Clarkeville YMCA.

2. What do you feel is crucial to your success? Do you have any advice for someone looking to go
into business as an entrepreneur?

The most crucial aspect of my success is sheer determination and self-discipline. When you are self-

employed, it is very easy to slack off on what you SHOULD be doing because you don't have a boss
standing over you. If you want to be financially successful, you must be able to make yourself do what is
necessary, whether you feel like it or not. My best advice for anyone wanting to go into business for
his/herself is to never give up and always strive to improve yourself--whether it is job-specific skills or just
your time-management!

3. What is your favorite part of the Christmas season?

I love the Christmas lights and choosing gifts for my friends and family!

If you would like to find her online and place an order (there are hundreds of AMAZING MK products

MEET SARAH!

Hello! My name is Sarah, and I started The French Quarter while I was working on my BFA in Animation and Illustration.  The name is a simple play on words, representative of both the place, and the item. Two things I hold dear to my heart.

How did you get into jewelry making?

I’ve always had an interest in jewelry; I even tried to become an apprentice when I was younger with a local jeweler. It wasn’t until I was in college that my high school friend (that's me ya'll!) had re-awoken me to my love of jewelry making.

What's your favorite thing you've ever made?

I am a Jill of all trades and have made a lot of things in the art world over my short life time, so this is a rather difficult question to answer. The answer hinges on a copper rose I created and the graphic novel I started for the Sketch Book Project 2012.

Any advice for beginner creators?

My advice to anyone wanting to follow their dreams is to just go for it. Start small if you can’t go big. Don’t be afraid to fail, the only real failure is regret if you don’t ever try.

That Ladies, is my BFFE!
