Tell All Free For All!

I was super psyched to stumble upon this link up today at not one of my fave blogs but two!

Lauren & Rushelle teamed up and came up with an awesome link up... join in!

I dropped my baby.

Seriously, it could happen to you. I was leaving Wal-Mart and had my baby boy of 6 months on my shoulders. I had so much fun walking with him on my shoulders and reminiscing about when my grandfather used to carry me on his shoulders and how much I loved it. We got to the car and I dropped my umbrella so without hesitation I leaned down and picked it up. As I stood back up, my heart stopped. In order to lean down and grab something I had let go of Aiden's tiny little ankles.

Everything happened so fast! As the realization struck a chord of fear within me I noticed there were not one but three women gaping at me around the parking lot. One even let out a little scream and ran towards me. I whirled around and found him a few feet away... laughing. His little bald head was dirty with asphalt rocks and trash but he seemed fine. I grabbed him up and grasped him all the way to the hospital... boo-hoo'ing to Sarah about how I had probably caused some terrible harm to him and HOW COULD I HAVE DROPPED HIM!? FROM MY SHOULDERS!? 6 FEET TO PAVEMENT!? AT 6 MONTHS OLD!? I was mortified. So much so, they threatened to sedate me at the hospital. My baby was fine after all, not even a scratch... but I still look back and feel the 'Oh no, did that just happen?' feeling!

  1. Omg! I'd definitely lose my sh!t if that happened too. But how funny that he was laughing about it. My guess is that there were no permanent damages ndvhe is no worse for wear. Thanks for linking up, lady.

  2. Oh Man!! That would be horrible. On all ends of the spectrum! But of course there had to be an audience. lol. Kids are more durable that people sometimes think. I have a few horror stories myself with 2 boys, and they're still little. I know I have a whole LOT more to go. lol. And LOL at almost being sedated at the hospital! lol. Thanks so much for linking up with us!

  11. lol thats so funny, my oopsie with Anna happened at a walmart when she was around 6 months too. I wouldn't strap her in because I didn't want to piss her off since she hated being contrained...plus I never imagined that she would be able to wiggle out anyway. I still kept a close eye on her in the store though. THEN, when we were waiting in line I was loading up everything on the conveyer belt and the cashier looks directly in front of the stroller and was like" WHAT CHU DOIN ON THE FLOOR BABY?!" and sure enough Anna had somehow slithered out of the stroller without harming herself and was sitting down on her butt in front of the stroller lol. I felt like everyone was staring at me haha

  12. That is the WORST! I had a moment like that when I left my 3 month old in the MIDDLE of the bed, turned around for just ONE second, and THUNK... Yes. He wiggled his little body over to the edge and fell off. He was fine, but I was a mess! It is, like yours, funny in retrospect...And you'll always have the excuse that he really was dropped on his head as a baby..hehehe
